Public Relations – Publishing – Conferences

Hawkama Center for Public Relations was established in 2015 to operate in the fields of publishing, conference organization, and public relations services. Over the years, the center has successfully executed various conferences in collaboration with both governmental and private entities. Notable collaborations include:

  1. Dar Al-Sharq: A three-year collaboration (2013-2016) in editing and preparing the following publications:
    • White Book: An annual publication on corporate social responsibility practices. This project, authored and edited by Mr. Babiker Osman, the administrative partner in the center, has seen four editions to date.
    • Workers Book: An annual publication addressing labor issues, including reports on workers’ care from government and private entities. Mr. Babiker Osman also prepared and edited this book, which has seen three editions.
    • Governance Reports Book: A publication reviewing reports on the governance of Qatari public joint-stock companies, providing valuable information about the development of governance systems in Qatar and the Middle East.
    • National Register Book on Occupational Safety and Health 2017: A publication featuring valuable information about laws and efforts related to safety and occupational health in Qatar.
    • Corporate Social Responsibility Supplement: An eight-page weekly newspaper with around 50 issues published so far, edited and supervised by Mr. Babiker Osman.
  2. Talal Abu Ghazaleh Group: A memorandum of understanding regarding the preparation and publication of the group’s news in Qatari media since 2010.
  3. Mohammad Bin Hamad Holding Group: A memorandum of understanding for the preparation and publication of the group’s news in Qatari media since 2016.

The center has also played a significant role in organizing conferences with both governmental and private entities, including:

  • Qatar Construction Standards Conferences: The first, second, and third conferences held in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in 2014, 2015, and 2016, respectively. These conferences attracted substantial attendance and sponsorship from major construction companies.
  • Occupational Safety and Health Conferences: The first and second conferences held in collaboration with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour, and Social Affairs on April 28, 2017, and 2018. International organizations such as the International Labour Organization and the International Timber Organization sponsored these conferences.
  • Corporate Governance Conference: Launched under the sponsorship of the Qatar Financial Markets Authority on November 14, 2017. This conference marked the amendment of the Corporate Governance Law.
  • Raw Materials Management Conference in Muscat, Oman: Held on March 28-29, 2018, for the first time in Muscat, bringing together officials from Qatar and Oman.
